Big Shot Scallop Square

Just a quick post of a card I did yesterday.  This is a card that I made using the big shot and scallop square die, and of course my favorite embossing folder.  Although I just got the polka dot embossing folder in the mail yesterday.  So we will have to see if this one remains my fav!  The die is bigger than I thought it would be, it is 4 3/8" x 4 3/8".  It was such a fun card to make.  And the stamp is one I got for free during sale-a-bration called "A Flower for all Seasons".  It is one that I have been oggling for a while and was estatic to get it for free.  I will try and keep the posts coming as in the next few weeks I will be packing as we will be moving.  I could just start shivering over the amount of packing that needs to be done.  I hope you enjoy!

Bright Charming Birthday

Tis the season for birthdays in my family.  We have 6 in May and 4 in June.  I love how this one turned out.  I purchased the Charming stamp set in December and finally got to pull it out and use it.  And with pixie pink and green galore (both retiring) markers and papers, this card turned out bright and fresh.  I have to admit that the bold brights family has never really been a favorite of mine.  I would take a look at a full sheet of card stock and think "Wow, that's bright".  But I am finding that when I use them in small amounts like this, I really love them.  It just took Stampin' Up! to retire them for me to notice.  As sad as I am about these colors retiring I am very excited about the new colors that are coming.  I think they are beautiful!  I finally used a technique they showed us at convention a couple of years ago with the markers.  I inked up the image with versa mark and colored with the markers on top.  By doing so I was able to emboss the image with clear embossing powder.  Hope you enjoy!

Greenhouse Garden Birthday

Can I just say I love love love the new Square Lattice embossing folder in the summer mini!  It gives the coolest texture.  I made this card for a family member who has a birthday coming up in a couple of weeks and she loves purple.  And of course I couldn't wait to get my hands on my new stamp set Greenhouse Garden.  This is such a fun stamp set to play with, and the flowers in it are gorgeous.  I have some big plans for this set cards, scrapbooks, and my all time favorite ASK frames.  Hope you enjoy.

Upside Down Garden

This is a picture of my birthday present from my mom.  I finally went out today and bought the veggies to go in it, and with my two little helper got it planted.  I have 4 tomatoes hanging and up top I planted 4 bell peppers and basil in the center.  This takes square foot gardening to a whole new level.  In the small pot on the side I planted the herb curry, and it really smells like nummy curry.   Can't wait to see how this works out!

Digital Scrapbooking with MDS

Again I love playing with My Digital Studio.  It makes it so easy to design your layouts and to know what size of pictures you want for the page.  I have been enjoying creating and making pages for my daughter.  I don't have many pages done in her book, and she loves to see her pictures come to life in her book.  It's also nice to ask them what they thought and remember of the event.  Thanks for looking!

Watercolor Trio Mother's Day Card

Here is a card that I made for my mom to give to my grandma.  I love how it turned out.  I swear, you can't go wrong with this stamp set.  Again it was in my birthday box and is a new stamp set in the Summer Mini.  This card was a trick, as I was at my mother's and didn't have all of my supplies.  I enjoyed the challenge of working with what I had on hand.  Hope you enjoy!

Mother's Day Big Shot Easel Card

Wow I just had a party filled weekend!  I spent the weekend at my mom's house celebrating my 2 year old nephew's birthday, my 10 years old son's birthday, and mother's day.  The card I have to show you today was made using my new birthday box of Stampin' Up that I got on Wednesday.  The idea came from another fellow demonstrator named Chat, and my sister in law Kristi and I came up with our own version.  It is called an Easel Card and I love how they work.  For this card I used 4 different Big Shot items and the Elements of Style stamp set.  The flower brad in the center of the butterfly is from the Flower Designer Brads which are free this month with the purchase of specific stamp sets or My Digital Studio.  Here is a picture of the card front:

Mellow Moss and Really Rust Card

Here is another card using the color coach.  It was made using mellow moss and really rust with a little bordering blue thrown in. All three of these colors are retiring at the end of June.  I love how these colors came together.  The card has a beautiful simplicity to it.  If I had not used the color coach I am not sure I would have put these colors together.  I can't wait until I can order the new coach, with all the new colors!  Enjoy!

Playing with My Digital Studio

Can I just say I am sooooooo glad April is behind me.  That was not a fun month!  Anyways, it's May and Stampin' Up! is having a scrapbooking promotion so I thought I would play around with My Digital Studio.  I love MDS, it's great for designing and making great projects for the grandparents quickly.  First I wanted to show you the inspiration for the pages.  It is a card designed by my sister in law and fellow demonstrator Kristi.  She used the Vintage Vogue stamp set and the Very Vintage wheel.

For the scrapbook pages the stamp sets I used were Baroque Motifs and Frames with a Flourish (which is retired, but still in MDS).

Let me know what you think.  I am not much of a digital scrapbooker, but these were a lot of fun to create and I think they turned out great.  Now I just need to find the paper and make the 3-D version of them.

Brocade Blue Wings of Friendship

I Have been playing with my Color Coach lately.  I have had this thing for several years and have hardly looked at it.  The cards I have been making lately have been utilizing this wonderful tool.  I wanted to share with you today a card I made using the color coach and a hostess stamp set Wings Of Friendship.  I really love how it turned out and because no sentiment is on the front (which is hard for me to do), it can be used for almost any occasion.  I used my markers for this project to color in the image.
